Darrick Scott serves as the President of the Vigo County Council. As Council President, he serves as an ex-officio member of all four council committees. He previously served as the Chairman of the Annual Budget Committee.
As Councilman, Darrick's goal is to represent the people of Vigo County by voicing their concerns, improving the quality of life and housing standards, and encouraging attractive, well planned development. He wants Vigo County to continue to be a place that people are proud to call home and to raise a family in. He has strong interests in public safety issues, senior citizen concerns and the growth of a strong employment base.

Councilman Scott was elected to the Vigo County Council in 2002. He serves as the Deputy Chief for the Sugar Creek Fire Department and as a Captain in the Terre Haute Fire Department. Darrick served in the U.S. Navy from 1986-1994 on active duty and as a reservist.
Darrick resides in West Terre Haute, IN with his wife Jill and their two daughters. The Scott Family has resided in West Terre Haute since the late 1800's. Councilman Scott's grandfather, John Scott, served as a Vigo County Commissioner from 1972-1996.
