The Vigo County CASA program is made up of specially trained community volunteers who advocate for children in the Juvenile Court system due to having been abused or neglected. We are part of a National Organization that was begun in 1977; Vigo County's program was started in 1989 and is steadily growing.
The mission of CASA is to speak for the best interests of abused & neglected children. We work with state and local CASA programs, and other agencies to promote and support quality volunteer advocacy to help assure each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.
**We currently have over 80 Sworn volunteers due to our most recent training in July 2008!**
Our goal is for children in our court system to be represented by a CASA so that their needs and wishes do not go unfulfilled.
