CHAPTER 97

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A DESIGNATED NO PARKING/TOW-AWAY ZONE

5 – 97.1      Purpose

It is the purpose of this ordinance to regulate parking in the Vigo County Parking lot on the North side of the Vigo County Annex.

5 – 97.2      General Provision

No person shall at any tame stand or park a vehicle in any part of the parking area with yellow markings. The area of the parking lot with blue markings shall be received for vehicles displaying special privileges for handicapped persons and no person shall at any time stand or park a vehicle without handicapped privileges in any part of the parking area with blue markings.

5 – 97.3      Penalties

Violation of this Ordinance is punishable by a fine of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the first violation, plus towing charges.

5 – 97.4      Repealer

All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

5 – 97.5      Severability Clause

If any section, provision or part of this ordinance is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

5 – 97.6      Effective Date

This Ordinance has been passed and adapted this 16th day of September, 1996 by the Vigo County Board of Commissioners, and become effective September 16^th, 1996.
