MAXIMUM SPEED ORDINANCE FOR RIO GRANDE ROAD

FROM SANDCUT EAST 70 VIGO-CLAY COUNTY LINE

5 – 92.1      Purpose

      It is the purpose of this Ordinance to facilitate the orderly and safe flaw of traffic on Rio Grande Road from Sandcut east to Vigo-Clay County Line except where designated different.

5 – 92.2      General Provisions

      Except teen a special hazard exists that requires lower speed, the maximum sped limit on that portion of Rio Grande Road from Sandcut east to Vigo-Clay County Line shall be fifty (50) miles per hour.

5 – 92.3      Penalties

      Violation of this Ordinance is punishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) plus Court Costs, at the discretion of the court.

5 – 92.4      Repealer

      All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

5 – 92.5      Severability Clause

      If any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, vision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

5 –92.6      Effective Date

Passed and adopted by the Vigo County Board of Commissioners thin 16th day of February, 1993.
