CHAPTER 88

MAXIMUM SPEED ORDINANCE FOR TOWNSHIP LINE

FROM RIO GRANDE ROAD NORTH TO EVANS LANE

5 – 88.1      Purpose

It is the purpose of this ordinance to facilitate the orderly and safe flow of traffic on Township Line Road from Rio Grande Road north to Evans Lane.

5 – 88.2      General Provisions

      Except when a special hazard exists that requires lower speed, the maximum speed limit on that portion of Township Line Road from Rio Grande Road north to Evans Lane shall be forty (40) miles per hour.

5 – 88.3      Penalties

      Violation of this Ordinance is punishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) plus Court Costs, at the discretion of the court.

5 – 88.4      Repealer

      All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

5 – 88.5      Severability Clause

      If any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional

5 – 88.6      Effective Date

      Passed and adopted by the Vigo County Board of Commissioners this 28th day of November, 1988.
