CHAPTER 85

MAXIMUM SPEED ORDINANCE FOR MARGARET AVENUE

ROAD FROM 25TH STREET EAST TO STATE ROAD 46

5 – 85.1      Purpose

It is the purpose of this Ordinance to facilitate the orderly and safe flow of traffic on Margaret Avenue Road from 25th Street east to State Road 46.

5 – 85.2      General Provisions

      Except when a special hazard exists that requires lower speed, the maximum speed limit on that portion of Margaret Avenue Road from 25th Street east to State Road 46 shall be forty (40) wiles per hour.

5 – 85.3      Penalties

      Violation of this Ordinance is punishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) plus Court Costs, at the discretion of the court.

5 – 85.4      Repealer

      All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions o£ this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

5 – 85.5      Severability Clause

      If any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudicate an shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

5 – 85.6      Effective Date

      Passed and adopted by the Vigo County Board of Commissioners this 28th day of November, 1988.
