MAXIMUM SPEED ORDINANCE FOR SOUTH 7TH

STREET BETWEEN DAMS AVENUE AND U.S. 41

5 – 84.1      Purpose

It is the purpose of this ordinance to facilitate the orderly flow of traffic on the southernmost portion of South 7th Street.

5 – 84.2      General Provisions

Except when a special hazard exists that requires lower speed, the maximum speed limit on that portion o£ South 7th Street between Davis Avenue and U.S. 41 shall be forty (40) miles per hour.

5 – 84.3      Penalties

Violation of this Ordinance is punishable by a fine not exceeding Fire Hundred Dollars ($500.00) plus Court Costs, at the discretion of the court.

5 – 84.4      Repealer

All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

5 – 84.5      Severability Clause

If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity o£ the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

5 – 84.6      Effective Date

Passed and adopted by the Vigo County Board of Commissioner this 11th day of April, 1988.
