FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT FOR
PRAIRIETON TOWNSHIP VIGO COUNTY, INDIANA
4 72.1
Purpose
An Ordinance establishing a fire protection district in Prairieton Township, County of Vigo, State of Indiana, in order to provide greater fire protection services within the aforementioned area, and a Board of Fire Trustees to execute the powers and duties granted said Trustees in accordance with I.C. 36-8-11-15.
4 72.2
Definitions
As used in this Ordinance, unless the context clearly denotes otherwise, these terms shall have the following meaning:
4 72.2-1 "Board" refers to the Board of Fire Trustees of the Prairieton Fire Protection District.
4 72.2-2 Prairieton Fire Protection District" shall mean that territory within Prairieton Township, of the County of Vigo, State of Indiana, except that territory previously annexed to the City of Terre Haute, County of Vigo, State of Indiana.

General Provisions
4 72.3-a The Board of County Commissioners of Vigo County. Indiana pursuant to the provisions of I.C. 36-8-11-1 et seq. Hereby establishes the Prairieton Township Fire Protection District.
4 72.3-b Board of Trustees, pursuant to I.C. 36-8-11-12, the Board of County Commissioners of Vigo County, Indiana shall appoint five (5) Trustees to serve on the Board. The Board of County Commissioners of Vigo County, Indiana, shall specify that one (1) of the aforementioned Trustees shall serve a term of one (1) year, one (1) of the aforementioned Trustees shall serve a term of two (2) years, one (1) of the aforementioned Trustees shall serve a term of three (3) years, and two (2) of the aforementioned Trustees shall serve a term of four (4) years.
4 72.3-c The Board of County Commissioners of Vigo County, Indiana hereby incorporates by reference all those provisions contained within I.C. 36-8-11-1 et seq.
4 72.4
Repealer
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
4 72.5
Severability Clause
Should any section, paragraph, clause or phrase of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid, the remainder of said Ordinance shall continue in full force and effect.
4 72.6
Effective Date
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the Vigo County Board of Commissioners on January 3rd, 1991.
