INSPECTION PERMIT FEE ORDINANCE
4 – 63.1
Purpose And Repealer
This Ordinance is enacted to update the fees charged for permits issued through the County Building and Inspection Department established in Vigo County Code, Chapter 61, and to the extent inconsistent with the provisions therein, repeals the provisions of Chapter 61, and specifically repeals the permit fee provisions of the following sections of Chapter 61: 4-61-9, 4-61-12, 4-61-15, 4-61-18.

Building Permit Fees
The following schedule of fees for permits far the construction, alteration or repair of structures is established;
Commercial Permits $45 for the first $1000 of the estimated costs, plus
$1 for each additional $1000.
Stick Frame Dwellings $100 base fee, plus $.03 per square foot of living
space (includes Certificate of Occupancy).
Modular $75 flat fee
Garage, Barn, Additions
or anything adding
square footage $25 for the first $1000 of the estimated cost and
$1 for each additional $1000.
Porch, Signs, Pools,
Cosmetic remodel, Misc $15 for the first $1000 of the estimated cost and
$1 per each additional $1000.

Plumbing Permit Fees
The following schedule of fees for the replacement of plumbing is established:
$50.00 flat fee. This will be for replacing plumbing only.

Electrical Permit Fees
The following schedule of fees for a permit for installation of new or upgrade, reconnecting, etc. of electrical service is established:
$50 for new services
$25 for service upgrades, reconnections, etc.

Surcharge
All permits must be applied for and issued prior to the commencement of the work. An additional surcharge of fifty percent (50%) of the permit fee shall be assessed when the work is commenced prior to obtaining the permit.

Certificate Of Occupancy
The following fee is established to obtain a certificate of occupancy as provided in Vigo County Code Section 4-61-18: $10 flat fee

Severability Clause
If any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

Effective Date
Passed and adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Vigo this 22nd day of March, 1999.
