SERVICE FEE FOR RECORD CHECKS

2 – 23.1      Purpose

This ordinance shall be known and may be cited as the Vigo County Criminal History Records Check Service Charge Ordinance.

2 – 23.2      General Provisions

2 – 23.2-a       Any person or entity requesting copies of the Vigo County Sheriff's Department records of criminal and traffic arrests shall be required to pay a Three Dollar ($3.00) service charge for such records.

2 – 23.2-b      The revenue received shall be deposited in a special record check fund to be used for law enforcement purposes.

2 – 23.2-c      Remittance of this fee does not apply to record check requests by Vigo County Governmental entities.

2 – 23.3      Repealer

All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

2 – 23.4      Severability Clause

      Should any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not effect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

2 – 23.5      Effective Date

      Passed and adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Vigo County on June 4, 1990.
