CHAPTER 18

ORDINANCE DESIGNATING BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

AS PURCHASING AGENCY AND DESIGNATING PURCHASING AGENTS

1 – 18.1      Purpose

The purpose of this Ordinance is to establish a purchasing agency and designate purchasing agents) for Vigo County consistent with the requirements of I.C. 5-22 (the Act).

1 – 18.2      Purchasing Agency

The Board of Commissioners hereby determines that it is the purchasing agency for the County.

1 – 18.3      Purchasing Agent

The Board of Commissioners hereby designates the following persons to serve as purchasing agents for the County:

1 – 18.3-a      each elected County official;

1 – 18.3-b      each circuit, superior and County court judge;

1 – 18.3-c      the County highway superintendent;

1 – 18.3-d      the County Engineer;

1 – 18.3-e      the Director of Data Processing;

1 – 18.3-f      the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation;

1 – 18.3-g      the County Building Inspector;

1 – 18.3-h      the Director of the Redevelopment Department;

1 – 18.3-i      the Director of the County Board of Health;

1 – 18.3-j       the Director Area Planning;

1 – 18.3-k      the Vigo County Sheriff; and

1 – 18.3-l      such county employees as are designated from time to time, in writing.

1 – 18.4      Effective Date

      This Ordinance is effective upon passage and signing by the presiding officer.

Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Vigo County, Indiana, this 6th day of July, 1998.
